The Avalon Food Cookbook was my first published cookbook and it is in its fourth year and still selling strong. It was an Avalon public school fundraiser. With over 7000 copies sold, this book with simple fantastic recipes is great to share with friends and to send overseas to family. Fabulous food styling by Lisa Williams, Carolyn Darragh, Alex Tofield, Fleur Robinson and Vanessa Morris.
We cooked and shot all our recipes in some fantastic locations including beaches and the beautiful homes of some of our school families. We also had a great team of professional photographers, Nelly le Comte, Sally Mayman, Danny Osomanski and Gerry Colley, stylists and chefs, Fast Ed,Darren Simpson, and off course fabulous graphic design work by Ingrid Kwong and Emma Long, to help bring this book to life. Thank you to all involved. Here is another beautifully prepared, styled and shot recipe.
The Avalon Food Cookbook is a celebration of Sydney’s northern beaches lifestyle, our food and community. It is a beautiful environment with rocky, sandy beaches and stunning backdrops of boats sailing on Pittwater. Unique communities like Scotland Island, where the families come and go by boat and fish from their front window, provide a wonderful canvas for good original cuisine. A unique fundraiser cookbook, the Avalon Food Cookbook was conceived by the families and many supporters of Avalon Public School. Stunning images from Palm Beach to mona Vale, celebrating life on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Want to recreate your favourite restaurants signature dishes? We have plenty of them in our cookbook. The Boat house in Palm Beach,Clareville kiosk,Different Drummer in Avalon, Dunes Restaurant, Jonahs, Yoda Food and many more. Other recipes are the tried and tested recipes from many mums and grandmums, uncles and aunties at Avalon Public school. Why not book a table this weekend to try them out then try to recreate it at home.
